About Little Marvels Childcare:

Little Marvels is an in-home childcare center located in Mason, MI offering services to families of children aged 2yrs thru 4yrs. No more than 14 unrelated children are in attendance on any given day.  Although smaller than a typical daycare facility, Little Marvels is able to provide the one-on-one attention many children seek and all deserve.   

 

Our days are semi structured and include:

Playtime, Naps, Meals, Outdoor Activities, Crafts, and more. 

 

Early Learning and Preschool Programs are incorporated into our daily activities to help each child grow and be ready for school. While most of our learning is through play, I have also received my diploma in Montessori training for ages 3-6yrs. Many of our learning activities will be Montessori inspired.

About Nicole

I am a 40 year old mother to 2 teen boys and a 2yr old daughter. I started Little Marvels because I have always enjoyed caring for young children. 

A little history:

I began babysitting around the age of 13 for families in my neighborhood. During this time, I cared for children during the day and also over night occasionally. This lasted until I turned 16 and was able to get a "real job."

During high school and college I had the opportunity to go on a couple mission trips. The first, for a week to Atlanta, GA where we cared for local neighborhood kids. The second was a 3 month trip to India. We cared for, encouraged, taught, played with, provided basic medical care, and much more to a large group of children at a local orphanage.

 

After college I had my 2 sons. Once they were old enough, we began homeschooling. That experience helped me learn that all children learn at their own pace and in their own ways. Each has their likes and strengths as well as areas that take a little extra time to master. 

 

To help bring in some extra income while I was home with my boys, I began watching other children. I would watch anywhere from 1-3 other children at a time in my home or theirs. They would join us during some of our homeschool lessons, activities, and field trips. 

 

The past 10 years have had many changes for us. I re-entered the working world while my boys began attending public school. Re-married and had my daughter. I am grateful I was able to go back to and continue to do one of the things I enjoy the most..hanging out with kids!
